The BMW M240i is much more than just the sum of its parts. Better balanced, the M240i is an impressive performance legend, joining the ranks of many, many other blue and white propeller cars. With the car being often compared to the base model Porsche Cayman in terms of performance, which tells the tale of the brilliance of the car – as the Cayman comes from a more prestigious marque, and much more “compromised” (2 seats, mid engined).
The engine is powerful with a broad range, and the 8-speed paddleshift automatic gearbox keeps you in the sweet spot of the torque curve at all times, and the amazing chassis blends driver involvement and agility perfectly. The M240i’s mix of attributes is one that nothing else in the segment can touch. It’s an outstanding car and this xDrive version operates a rear-biased all wheel drive system, taking advantage of the front wheels to add even more grip. This is a seriously quick car, and from the seat of your pants under most circumstances it feels no slower than it’s big brother M2.
